"Den låta jeg kanskje har hørt mest på i 2018 er Masåva og låta Jorda rundt. "
- Frida Ånnevik
"Og det er rørende å tenke på musikere som Selma French Bolstad fra det bandet, så ung ennå, så mye musikk det sikkert vil komme derfra fremover, det gir noe så pompøst som håp for verden og eksistensen. Det er det alt handler om, for svingende! »

MASÅVA’S DEBUT ALBUM.
RELEASE: OCTOBER 26. 2018.
This is an album which is inspired by dreams, sorrow, love and the everyday life - played by four musicians who has a lot to express. With Selma French Bolstad’s strong lyrics and melodies have Masåva made some really great tunes both beautiful and catchy, with references to both jazz, pop and traditional Norwegian folk music .
The album contains 11 tracks with folk tunes, pop tunes, and some ballads which can melt the blackest heart and make stones roll - all with honest and strong Norwegian texts by Selma French Bolstad as the base. The Norwegian texts address everything from everyday problems that most people can recognize with naive and humorous considerations to philosophical and serious songs with inner and political challenges. The texts are reinforced in the arrangements and instrumentations of the young and vital, yet highly mature musicians in the band. Together, they create a musical universe that sounds modern and yet historic grounded. Dag Erik Johansen in the Athletic Sound studio has made a strong impression on the album with analog recording and tasteful mixing, and every song has been taken care of and treated with care both by him, the band and Selma.
